Here's a word that should never be spoken: "chide". Makes me think of a tattletale sister turning you in.
Men who use this word might well be shot out of hand.
Women who use this word are probably multicultural nits and ought to be sent to some 3rd world pesthole for a few years, until they realize what they were ignoring.

Re: Words that evoke an instant sense of loathing
Wed, October 13, 2004 - 3:40 PMChide doesn't get a really strong reaction out of me. Perhaps I have been surrounded by too many self-professed intellectuals - that a word like that isn't going to make me cringe when I hear it.
There are SOME words that a MAN should never use in relation to himself.
"Flair" comes to mind... any others?

Re: Words that evoke an instant sense of loathing
Mon, October 10, 2005 - 9:25 AM<<I feel your pain.>>
Ahhh Yeah! That's a big one.
One time I had to put a goat down that I dearly loved and had raised from a kid. I was severely grieving when my Ex drag queen - college professor of Sex & Gender, came up to me and said, " I feel your pain."
It took all the strenth in every fiber of my being to prevent myself from ripping him open and strangling him with his own intestine. ( or just say to him: "Hey, Don't you need to have a gender or engage in sex at least twice a year to teach that class?)
Another thing that pisses me off is to be told "It's gods will" or some New age equivalent.
When some one is greiving or going through difficulties, You cant possibly know their pain, so to say so is nothing more than an INSULT, and who the hell wants to hear that its god's will, when their dear one as been taken from them. At that point god is nothing but a heartless bastard...fuck him.
One if the outstanding characteristics of the Retrosexual is the ability to "Deal with it" and some of us need deal with things in a private and personal way. There some people that just don't get it. They intrude with, stupid cliché remarks like; "I feel your pain." PC jerks should learn that there are certain moments when it is best to keep the mouth SHUT and move on

Now I hate that one. Chilren should be seen and not heard.
Look at all the return vets, that have kept their mouths shut. By doing so, thay have never dealt with it. No their familys have.
As a survivor of torture, and sexual abuse. for most of my life I kept my mouth shut. Now I talk, and I know people want me to shut up, and my family would shut me up if they could.
But at last I am letting it all out to Deal with it, and I hope when I finally have said it enough. I will be able to move on.

Re: Words that evoke an instant sense of loathing
Tue, October 18, 2005 - 8:46 AMWhat a bunch of pathetic bigotry.
Fuck! Don't you people have lives?!!!!
Men need to censor their language in order to be considered "real?"
Fuck you. Girl! You're not fabulous. You have no flair.
You're pathetic. You create the environment of homophobia and fear that leads to violence against gay men.
You need to go to your local gay community center and listen to the stories about gay teens being beaten up, maimed and killed because they are considered effeminate.
In fact, a study was just completed that showed that 90 percent of gay and lesbian teens face violence and threats at school.
And it's all because of people like you.
Bigots. Hateful liars. Appeasers of violence.
